The Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for creating engaging animated content that brings static visuals to life across video, social, and interactive channels. This role develops storyboards, designs kinetic typography, and produces 2D/3D animations that enhance storytelling and reinforce brand identity. Motion Graphics Designers work on a variety of projects—marketing campaigns, product demos, corporate presentations, and social media clips—ensuring each animation is fluid, impactful, and optimized for its intended platform.

Collaborating closely with Video Editors, Art Directors, and Marketing teams, the Motion Graphics Designer translates creative briefs into polished motion sequences. They select appropriate tools and techniques—whether keyframe animation in After Effects, node-based compositing in Nuke, or 3D modeling in Cinema 4D—to achieve the desired visual style. The role also involves working with developers or UX teams to implement lightweight web animations that enhance user interaction without compromising performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Storyboarding & Concept Development: Create detailed storyboards and animatics to map out motion flow and timing before production
  • Animation & Compositing: Animate graphical assets, text, and illustrations using After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar tools; composite layers for seamless integration
  • Kinetic Typography & Infographics: Design and animate data-driven infographics and typographic sequences that communicate complex information clearly
  • Asset Optimization: Export and encode animations for various formats (MP4, GIF, Lottie) and platforms (web, mobile, broadcast) while maintaining quality and performance
  • Cross‐Functional Collaboration: Partner with video editors, graphic designers, and developers to integrate motion assets into larger projects and ensure consistency with brand guidelines
  • Template & Library Management: Develop reusable animation presets, templates, and asset libraries to streamline future production and maintain visual continuity
  • Quality Assurance: Review and refine animations for timing, easing, and visual polish; conduct peer reviews and incorporate feedback

Success in this Role Is Measured By:

  • The creativity and clarity of motion content and its ability to captivate target audiences
  • On-time delivery and efficient turnaround of animation projects, even under tight deadlines
  • Consistency in applying brand standards and visual style across all motion assets
  • Measurable improvements in engagement metrics (e.g., video view rates, click-throughs on animated ads) whenever motion content is deployed
